Important: Vintage Voyage reserves the right to assess whether a vehicle is suitable for a particular stage. Not every Porsche is required to be safari-modified, but not every Porsche will be suitable for every section.

The Porsche Convoy
The Convoy
More Than A Drive
The BYOP programme is not designed as an ordinary self-drive safari. You will be travelling alongside fellow Porsche owners and the wider Vintage Voyage expedition.
That means your Porsche becomes part of a moving collection of performance, engineering and adventure.
Drive together. Explore together. Arrive together.
Participants are expected to follow convoy procedures and all instructions issued by guides, trip marshals and the Vintage Voyage support team.
Wildlife encounters are conducted respectfully and participants must remain within their vehicles in protected areas unless expressly permitted by the relevant guide or authorities.
Frequently Asked Questions
The BYOP programme allows Porsche owners to bring their own vehicles and join the Kenya Porsche Safari for the entire journey, selected regions, or individual stages. You don’t need to take one of our safari-prepared vehicles.
Not necessarily. While the main Vintage Voyage fleet uses safari-prepared Porsches, the BYOP programme allows you to bring your own vehicle. However, vehicle suitability depends on the selected route. Some sections may require vehicles with adequate ground clearance and underbody protection.
Yes! The BYOP programme is flexible. You can join for the full expedition, a specific region (e.g., Samburu only), or a combination of multiple stages.
The full expedition covers Nairobi → Samburu → Ol Pejeta → Lake Elementaita → Maasai Mara, approximately 1,200 kilometres.
The full BYOP Safari is KES 257,235 per person sharing (double occupancy) or KES 410,025 for single occupancy. Sectional participation is priced individually based on the selected destinations, number of nights, and activities.
Full-board accommodation at safari lodges and camps, applicable park and conservancy fees, professional guides, curated safari experiences, recreational amenities, and Vintage Voyage expedition coordination.
Fuel, vehicle servicing and maintenance, tyres, personal vehicle repairs, vehicle insurance, personal travel/medical insurance, personal expenses, alcoholic beverages, and traffic fines.
We ask for details about your Porsche model, suspension, ground clearance, and general mechanical condition. Vintage Voyage will assess suitability based on the selected route. Not every Porsche is suitable for every section.
You can choose to join one or more stages of the safari instead of the full expedition. For example, you could join only the Samburu stage or combine Ol Pejeta and Elementaita.
